As we slowly ease back into normal life, one thing many people are looking forward to is going out on dates IRL.
But with all the successful 'love at first site' encounters, there are always a few awkward dates (let's face it, they make the best stories) and now people are sharing their most awkward dating stories on Twitter.
After Twitter user @NateIsBack2 asked "What's the most awkward date y'all ever been on?" a huge number of responses came in and they are hilarious.
One woman responded: "After the date we went back to his place to chill and he had an eviction notice on his door."

One of the most awkward encounters in the thread thus far came from a Twitter user who couldn't figure out why her date was "super quiet". She said: "To fill the silence, I just started talking about randomness... anytime I asked him a question, he would awkwardly laugh and look away.
"He texted me 30min into it and told me he was deaf and heard nothing I said."
And some of the stories were so unbelievably cringeworthy, including one where a woman revealed she went on a date with a man who worked for a family-owned funeral home and he proceeded to tell her what makeup techniques he would use if she died. She wrote: "His family owned/ran a funeral home. Did not have an issue with that, but he spent the later part of dinner telling me what kind of makeup techniques he would use on me if I died."

One guy shared that he accidentally farted during a goodbye hug and was ghosted by his date afterwards. His tweet was met with a mixed reaction, with one woman seeing the positive side of the unfortunate situation. "She was obviously not girlfriend material, me and my boyfriend fart at each other all the time," she confessed.
Another Twitter user revealed she took a guy out on a date and after she offered to pay for his food and drinks, he asked her to pay for something much more pricey. "I took a guy out on a date and I offered to pay for his food and drinks, and then after I paid for everything, he asked me can I pay to get his ps4 fixed, or if I can buy him a ps5. It's up to me."
Nobody wants to find their date snoozing but for one Twitter user this happened. She said: "He was older. Good looking but old enough to be my dad lol. We were sitting on the restaurant's patio on these sofas having drinks. He wanted to take shots. I could tell he was lit so I was like nah. We took 2. I went to the restroom & came back this man was sleep on the sofa."
