If you thought you were into cheesy gestures, think again, as there's literally no way you can top this one.

A groom-to-be proposed to his partner with a pepperoni pizza, on which the topping spelt out "Marry Me" alongside a diamond ring.

The man's unique way to pop the question has caught the attention of many online and has divided opinion among the masses wondering if that's exactly what his fiancée kneaded dough.

The engagement was shared on the Facebook group That's It, I'm Wedding Shaming by an unnamed woman, from Indiana, who was taken aback by the pizza-posal.

The photograph the woman shared showed the newly engaged woman modelling her diamond ring in front of a pepperoni pizza, which featured a handwritten message that read: "Marry Me" and a heart made of pepperoni in the middle.

Captioning the photo, the woman who shared it penned: "Engagement shaming. Really, a pizza proposal?"

While it might not be to everyone's tastes, we have to admit it warmed a pizza our hearts - and we're not the only one who think that as Facebook users claimed it was a charming way to propose in their droves.

One wrote: "Pizza and a ring?! A man that feeds you and buys you diamonds? Well that's a keeper I say, I'd definitely say yes".

"A. He clearly spent on the ring. B. He clearly took the time to prearrange a special pizza. C. Pizza is good. Even when it's not great, it's good. D. Not everyone wants a giant fuss," another posted.

A third wrote: "I'd judge if it was pizza at their wedding. But proposals are usually super duper personal, and just the two people".

Another jokingly shared: "If this is wrong, I don't want to be right."

One observer joked that the pizza could have been better for the proposal but saw no issue with it: "This is only shame worthy because they could have gotten a better pizza".

A final commented: "100 per cent if you are proposing with a pizza you better bring your A-game pizza lol".

As the saying goes, happy slice, happy wife!
