With their timeless designs and paintbox hues, Le Creuset is the trusted friend of kitchenware.

We could quite literally spend hours browsing their hotly coloured casserole dishes and curvy pastel teapots.

In good news for homeware lovers, the premium French cookware brand has just launched a brand-new Zen Kitchen range for the summer - and we already have our eye on several pieces in a dreamy coastal blue shade.

Inspired by the tastes and textures of Japanese cuisine, the new collection is made up of cast iron woks and casserole dishes, practical grills and grillets, stoneware plates and gorgeous serveware.

Aiming to "transport you to the land of the rising sun from the comfort of your kitchen" (erm, yes please!) the collection takes its cue from the healthy ingredients and visual appeal at the heart of Japanese cookery.

With the UK's glorious weather set to continue, many of us are cooking lighter, share-style dishes.

These summery cookware pieces are a great way to serve up those bright and seasonal meals - and who knows, they may even inspire us to expand on our culinary repertoire while we're at it!

We love the Zen Kitchen teapot in beachy blue with an accompanying stainless steal infuser (£29) ideal for loose leaf tea infusions on a summer's day.

Other highlights include the Zen Kitchen Signature Cast Iron Round Casserole Dish (£195), just right for meals ranging from a quick-cook fifteen minute pasta to a slow-cooked, spice-laced stew. Mmm.

The range isn't just blue, mind. Most pieces come in a variety of shades, including an eye-popping cerise, flinty grey and creamy meringue.

Take the Oblong Plate in Cerise (£18) below, for instance, which is the ideal shape for serving a selection of sushi or some plump gyoza.

There are sets of adorable rainbow Chopstick Rests (£15), too. Made from specialist clays and then fired, they're designed to keep chopstick tips away from the surface of the table.

These pieces look beautiful teamed with natural textures, such as placemats made from bamboo or rattan.

Oh, and reassuringly, all Le Creuset Stoneware and Dinnerware ranges come with a 10-year guarantee.

So, while the range doesn't come cheap, it's certainly built to last.
