London Dog Week Is Coming To The UK

A week to celebrate fur babies and the joy they bring to humans - you'd be barking mad to miss it.

Attention dog lovers: London Dog Week is on its way to take over Britain's capital.

Returning for its second year (after the huge success of last time), the fun-filled dog-centric event will take place from 23rd - 29th March - so it's not long to go until the pup-tastic occasion.

It's for both dog owners and dog lovers alike and will feature the first ever 'Pet Gala' (think Met Gala for dogs) where you can check out a canine fashion show.

There will also be a music event called Late-Night Hounds for both fur babies and their humans at MAMA shelter in Hackney, costume competitions, a Superpaw fashion brunch, a dog parade and plenty of other events to keep you occupied.

This might well be the cutest event of the year (

And the point? To have fun whilst raising awareness of how dog ownership, or simply visits from a pooch, can alleviate loneliness and bring happiness to people.

They're certainly not wrong, our poppet of a pooch is the only thing that can ever snap us out of our moods.

Which is why the co-founders, Lois Mallet Walker and Aneka Johnson will be also using the week to promote their ongoing Cuddle Clubs too, which started back in 2018.

The idea behind Cuddle Club is that companies can hire dogs for the day to visit offices in the hope it will bring some peace and help workers de-stress. Ummm, I hope the boss is reading this.

London Dog Week co-founder, Lois Mallet Walker, previously told Tyla: "A week after my mum passed, I bought my tiny poochon puppy, Pedro and it was love at first sight.

"He helped bring happiness back into my life and I truly discovered that unconditional love that dogs bring.

It's unsurprising that these fur babies bring us so much happiness - something London Dog Week seeks to raise awareness of (

"I know both myself and [co-founder] Aneka have both gone through mental and physical health challenges and our dogs have really helped us through it."

The events will take place at various locations throughout London and you can check out the full schedule and book tickets here.

We reckon this is sure to get some tails wagging.
