Every family has their own little traditions when it comes to celebrating Christmas.
From each household's Christmas dinner favourites and the times you open your prezzies to festive film choices and the rituals when it comes to Crimbo decor - we all do things a little differently on the special occasion.
However, many of us typically like to bask in the Xmas ambiance as long as we can - sometimes way into January.

But that's far from the case for one mum who has explained exactly why she takes down her tree and decorations at 6pm on Christmas Day.
Taking down the decoration requires quite a bit of effort - light-untangling known to cause arguments and pets wagging their tails against the tree sending baubles cascading all over the floor.
Given the faff and fluster getting the house ready for Christmas can cause, it would seem strange to then not make it last as long as possible, instead taking it down on the evening of the big day itself.

But this mum, Georgia Schofield, clearly does things a little differently and took to TikTok to explain why she strips the house of festivity on the evening of the big day.
In the video, Georgia explains that she takes down the Christmas decorations on the 25th is because one of her children's birthdays is the very next day on the 26th.
The caption reads: "Time to get on with the birthday decorating."

The video shows Georgia removing the fairy lights and dismantling the tree before revealing a new white tree in its place, ready for her daughter's birthday.
Despite the lovely gesture, not all users are convinced, with many debating whether or not they prefer to have a Christmas tree up when it's their birthday or if it would negatively impact or take away from their celebrations.
One user said: "Why don't my parents take down the tree for my birthday."

A second wrote: "Mines the 27th December! It's always better not to have Christmas decorations up on ur birthday."

However, another said the 'Christmas decks' for their birthday are what help make it the 'best thing ever'.
"You should take the decorations down and put birthday banners and things on it. My bday is 1st of January and that's what my parents do for me," a third suggested.

A final unlucky soul simply noted: "My birthday is 25 December. No choice really but to have the tree up and it be Christmas."
In a follow-up video responding to a user asking for a further explanation, the mum said: "If my birthday was the day after Christmas, I could think of nothing worse than having the tree up so that's why I take it down, just to try and make it as normal as possible for her.
"Obviously Christmas and a birthday the day after, it's too close, so it's just our own little family tradition to take the tree down Christmas night ready for her birthday tomorrow."
