Viewers have been ‘hooked’ on an incredible new true crime drama that follows the brutal murder of a teenage girl, with many praising the tender focus it has on the victim.
Back in 1997, 14-year-old Reena Virk went missing from Saanich on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, after being invited to a party near the Craigflower Bridge.
Her body was found eight days later, having washed up on the shores of the Gorge Inlet.

Virk’s tragic story has now been made into a new Hulu series starring Lily Gladstone, Vritika Gupta and Riley Keough, with the first two episodes released earlier this week.
It’s based on the book Under the Bridge: The True Story of the Murder of Reena Virk by acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey, who received British Columbia's National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction in 2006 for her investigation into the murder. You can watch the trailer here:
The new series, Under the Bridge, is told through the eyes of Godfrey (played by Keough) and a local police officer (Gladstone), taking us into the ‘hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder’ to reveal ‘startling truths’ about the unlikely killer.

Viewers are already obsessed with the ‘harrowing’ story after watching the first two instalments of the eight-part mini-series – although some have admitted they’ll struggle to have to wait until next week for more.
