Jennifer Aniston shares heartbreaking tribute to 'little brother' Matthew Perry

The sitcom actor was found dead in his Los Angeles home last month

Jennifer Anniston has paid tribute to her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry, who passed away at his Los Angeles home last month.

The actor posted an emotional message to Instagram - in which she describes him as her 'little brother' - just a day after Matt LeBlanc posted a heartfelt tribute.

Perry sadly died at his home in Los Angeles on 28 October, with reports saying he was found in his hot tub.

It is believed that no drugs were found at the scene of Perry’s death, with law enforcement telling TMZ that first responders were initially called to Perry’s home for a 'water rescue'.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother,” his family said in a statement. "Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend."

And today, his former co-star Jennifer Aniston has paid tribute to her late 'friend'.

"Oh boy this one has cut deep..." she wrote on Instagram, sharing a black and white photo of them working together on the much-loved sitcom in the 90s.

"Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before. We all experience loss at some point in our lives.

"Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep. And we loved him deeply.

"He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be."

Jennifer - who played Rachel Green in the hilarious family-favourite show - went on: "For Matty, he KNEW he loved to make people laugh. As he said himself, if he didn't hear the ‘laugh’ he thought he was going to die. His life literally depended on it.

"And boy did he succeed in doing just that. He made all of us laugh. And laugh hard. In the last couple weeks, I’ve been pouring over our texts to one another. Laughing and crying then laughing again."

She added of the Chandler Bing star: "I’ll keep them forever and ever. I found one text that he sent me out of nowhere one day. It says it all. (See the second slide…)"

Jennifer shared a glimpse at one of their text conversations.

The second post was a sweet screenshot of a text exchange between the pair, in which he had told her: "Making you laugh just made my day. It made my day [smiley face emoji]."

Jennifer had replied to the message: "Awww the first of THOUSANDS of times".

"Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain," she continued in her Instagram tribute. "I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying “could you BE any crazier?”

"Rest little brother. You always made my day…"
