EastEnders fans think they’ve worked out when iconic character will make Albert Square return

It could be a lot sooner than we think

In EastEnders, a good dose of drama is always just around the corner.

Whether we’re having to solve the latest whodunnit or welcoming a new face to the square, there’s always an earth-shattering cliffhanger waiting to leave us in suspense.

Can anyone else hear the EastEnders outro right now, or just us? Dun dun dun...

Usually, there’s a twist headed our way for us to get to the bottom of before the next episode airs.

But in this case, it seems that a seriously iconic character is due a comeback.

EastEnders has had its fair share of iconic characters causing chaos.

Who among us could ever forget Janine Butcher?

Many evenings of our lives were spent in the clutches of a Mitchell family feud.

And of course no EastEnders piece would be complete without mentioning Max Branning and Stacey Slater.

So which legend is going to be making a return - and when?

Well, as some eagle eyed viewers hastened to point out - it could be a lot sooner than we think.

After a sudden ejection back in January, EastEnders fans have been missing Sharon Watts (played by Letitia Dean.)

Her character had secretly jetted off to Australia following the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) last Christmas, leaving the rest of ‘The Six’ - six of Walford's most iconic women - to deal with the burden alone.

Despite that being a pretty good excuse for needing some time away, fans have been urge Sharon’s quick return, along with her shenanigans.

One fan took to Twitter to share a screenshot of Sharon’s passport - which is due to run out later this year - suggesting her comeback will have to be sooner rather than later.

They wrote: “Shazza passport runs out in October so she has to fly back from Australia before that.”

Another replied: “And you need 6 months on it [to] travel! Hurry home Queen.”

Whilst this has given some viewers hope, some were quick to deflate those hopes by pointing out that Sharon could just renew her passport in Australia.

But there is still hope. Diane Parish, who portrays Denise Fox on the show, filmed a video for a fan before uploading it to Instagram.

She said: “There’s only five of us at the minute” then continued, “we will have six.”

So there we have it. Sharon Watts will return and The Six will be reunited!

It’s just a matter of time.
