Surprising amount of money Louis Walsh will get paid for Celebrity Big Brother appearance

Surprising amount of money Louis Walsh will get paid for Celebrity Big Brother appearance

It's six figures...

We're only a day into the brand-new season of Celebrity Big Brother and then there's already been a whole lot of buzz and blunders.

The eagerly-anticipated season finally graced our screens last night (4 March) for the first time since 2018 and, since then, many fans have been intrigued as to what each celeb will be raking for their appearances on the ITV programme.

Now, Louis Walsh has already made quite the impression on viewers after making a huge blunder live on TV right before he entered the Big Brother house and sharing his shocking prediction about fellow housemates upon entry - but what is the 71-year-old being paid?

Well, Louis will reportedly be paid a colossal £500,000 for his stint on the programme - the exact same figure as his pal and fellow X Factor judge, Sharon Osbourne.

A source told The Sun: "Louis knew he could name his price because ITV bosses have been desperate to get him to do the show for months.

"He's a wealthy man and was always well paid on the X Factor, so he always said he wanted a salary for the show that reflects his worth."

While Louis and Sharon will reportedly be paid the same amount - the latter's fee is as a 'celebrity lodger' for spending just five days in the infamous Big Brother house rather than an official housemate.

According to a source, Sharon is gearing up to 'inject some drama'.

"She isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind and has a wealth of showbiz stories up her sleeves," the source told The Sun. "She is guaranteed entertainment and sure to be a hit with viewers."

The source also revealed to the outlet: "Bosses did all they could to get Sharon and finally reached a deal she’s happy with.

"Sharon will inject enough drama but without her original price tag that was just not feasible.

"Producers cannot wait to see her reunite with Louis and know that it will be TV gold."

The outlet adds: "It is understood bosses reached a £500,000 deal with Sharon to enter the house for up to five days, after they found her fee for the whole three-week series too expensive."

Tyla has reached out to Louis Walsh's representatives for comment.

ITV declined to comment.

Celebrity Big Brother continues on ITV1 and ITVX tonight at 9.00pm.
