Netflix viewers are just realising where they recognise The Gentlemen's Susie Glass from and it’s making them feel old

If you've been feeling your age as of recent then you may want to turn away as this may leave you feeling somewhat of a fossil.

Now, I'm sure by now we've all heard about The Gentlemen after it first dropped on Netflix last week.

While the eight-part drama series, which has already climbed to the 'No. 1 in Programmes Today', is clearly going down a total treat with everyone - there's one major thing about it that's really making viewers realise the fleeting passage of time.

The Gentlemen boasts a star-studded cast including the likes of Divergent's Theo James, gangster movie veterans Vinnie Jones and Ray Winstone, as well as This is England's Chanel Cresswell.

But there's one particular star who was once a major part of many Brits' childhoods back in the day - none other than Kaya Scodelario.

The actor has starred in a number of box-office hits including; The Maze Runner, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City - just to name a few.

However, it was her role as the mysterious and elusive teenager who first hit our screens back in 2007 that sky-rocketed Scodelario to fame and I'm sure many of us still have her iconic smoky eye, ripped tights and messy hair combo cemented firmly in our brains.

Yes, Scodelario played Effy Stonem in Skins which turned 17 years old this year.

In The Gentlemen, she stars as Susie Glass, the woman behind the drugs empire who leads Eddie Horniman (Theo James) into her dark underworld and has since taken many Netflix viewers by surprise.

One X, formerly Twitter, user penned: "Just realised that Susie Glass from The Gentlemen is played by the same actress that played Effy in the original UK Skins, and I feel old for the 700th time this year."

"It’s Effy from Skins! I knew she looked familiar," exclaimed a second, while a third echoed: "I was wondering where I knew her from."

A fourth chimed in: "I was watching the first episode of The Gentlemen. Half way through it just clicked Susie Glass is Effy! My girl still looks good!"

"How have I only just found out that Suzie Glass from The Gentlemen is Effy from Skins!!!" questioned another.

And, a final user added: "It’s so nice to see Effy living her best life in The Gentlemen I’m here for it!"
