Matty Healy’s family responds to Taylor Swift’s savage new song lyrics believed to be about him

Matty Healy’s family responds to Taylor Swift’s savage new song lyrics believed to be about him

She dropped the album just last week

After what felt like forever waiting, Taylor Swift's finally released her eagerly-anticipated new album.

The 34-year-old 'Cruel Summer' singer dropped her 11th studio album, titled 'The Tortured Poets Department', last week (19 April) and fans have been absolutely buzzing since.

However, while Taylor's latest project gives fans a hefty two hours of listening materials - which also includes an additional surprise album and 31 songs - it's clear there's a few tracks in particular that have really caught the attention of fans.

Some people reckoned there would be a few lyrics about Taylor's ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, after their six-year relationship came to a halt last year, but that's not the only person they've speculated to have an honourable mention in the album.

Many have been speculating as to whether there are some lyrics which might be about the likes of a British musician that the pop star has reportedly dated.

Yep, it's none other than The 1975's frontman, Matty Healy.

Though their fling was short-lived before she started dating Kansas City Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce, fans are hellbent that a few of her songs are inspired by the 35-year-old singer.

Listeners believe that 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived', 'loml' 'But Daddy I Love Him', 'Fresh Out the Slammer', 'The Black Dog' and 'My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys' all reference Matty in some way.

And fans were quick to rush to social media to share their speculation.

One Instagram user commented: "All that for an album about Matty Healy."

While another thought the same, writing on X: "Taylor using Matty Healy as inspiration for an album makes sense because I have also lost my mind over a month long fling."

"TTPD being a Matty Healy album when it was marketed as a Joe Alwyn album feels like the biggest catfish of all time," someone else commented.

Since then, Matty's family have responded to Taylor's song lyrics which are believed to be about him.

Matty's parents, who are Loose Women's Denise Welch and Benidorm's Tim Healy, have yet to speak out publicly on it but Denise's sister, Debbie Dedes, has shared how she reckons her nephew has responded to it.

"Nothing surprises him anymore," she admitted to The Daily Mail.

Debbie continued: "He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on."

Speaking about Taylor, Debbie carried on: "She writes about all her relationships, doesn't she?

"I don't think it will come as a shock to him at all.

"He's very happy in his new relationship so I'm sure he will be focussing on that."

She added: "As my nephew, we know a bit more about what went on than has been in the press."

Tyla has reached out to Taylor Swift's representatives for comment.
