Kaley Cuoco has shared an update on her dog King's health just weeks after saying goodbye to another of her beloved pups, Dump Truck.
The Flight Attendant star took to her Instagram Stories to identify the culprit behind King's poor health over the past few weeks.
Cuoco posted a snap of a branch of a foxtail plant laying on her leg, explaining her dog - a chihuahua - had ingested some and it would have eventually pierced his heart.

"They are extremely dangerous to animals, especially dogs. We spent the last two months trying to figure out what was wrong [with] our King," she wrote in the Instagram Story.
"He had been violently ill and nothing was working," she continued.
"Many vet appts, surgery and endless meds. Finally found a specialist who found 2 of these in his body days away from piercing his heart!!"
She then posted a picture of King with his shaved body and stitches after surgery.

"He is doing soooo much better but as u can see he has tons of stitches from a super intense surgery...," she wrote over the photo.
"Also please note these must be surgically removed. They do not heal on their own!'"
The final photo is of the chihuahua wrapped in surgical gauze.
"Take care of your pets or don't have one!" Cuoco wrote. "We are so grateful he is OK and will live a long happy life!"

According to PetMD, foxtails can attach to any part of a dog’s body and start the burrowing process.
Signs such as head shaking, limping, sneezing, lumps, inflammation and bleeding of the nose can appear - if so, foxtails can be removed using tweezers, but if they are to penetrate vital organs, you must take your dog to a vet immediately.
Earlier this year, the Big Bang Theory alumna took to Instagram to post a lovely tribute to her late dog Dump Truck, who died in May.

"You were with me during some of the hardest moments I've had in my life.
"You brought endless joy to everyone that met you, and kissed my nose when I needed it most. You were as special as it gets and I'm so grateful we found each other.

"Please tell Norman I miss him every day and will cherish you both forever," she then added, referring to another of her dogs who passed away in 2021.
In March, the actress welcomed her first child, daughter Matilda, with her partner, Ozark star Tom Pelphrey. Alongside King, she also has other rescue dogs Zeus, Ruby, Shirley and Miss Opal, as well as horses and farm animals.
