Taylor Swift slammed after eye-watering price of her Super Bowl outfit revealed

Taylor Swift slammed after eye-watering price of her Super Bowl outfit revealed

The 'Anti-Hero' singer attended the NFL game to support new beau Travis Kelce

She's no NFL star, yet all eyes fell onto Taylor Swift last night after she rocked up to the annual Super Bowl.

The singer-songwriter, 34, was just one of the thousands of American football fans that flocked down to the Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium to witness the Kansas City Chiefs game against the San Francisco 49ers.

But it wasn't just her passion for sport that tempted 'Anti-Hero' hitmaker Taylor to make an appearance at the big-name event.

That's because the Grammy record-breaker is actually dating Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce, having confirmed their relationship back in December after initially keeping a rather low profile.

During last night's sporting extravaganza, however, Taylor's adoration of her new beau, also 34, was on full display for the world to see.

The star could be seen cheering Travis on with fellow VIP gal pals - including actress Blake Lively, rapper Ice Spice and musician Lana Del Ray - from the sidelines, and was even spotted downing a pint when her sportsman lover scored.

And when the game ended - with a sensational victory for Travis' team - the delighted singer joined his family on the pitch.

As well as gushing over the couple's sweet reunion - for which Taylor has been praised for allowing his mother to receive a hug first - viewers of the eagerly-anticipated game have had a LOT to say about Taylor's choice of outfit.

Not only did her fashion fix have fans impressed by her keen eye, it also left them subsequently staggered when they discovered the eye-watering price.

The 'Love Story' chart-topper donned a suave Dion Lee black corset worth $720, which she paired with a plush $130 Wear by Erin Andrew bomber jacket and embellished Area jeans, which cost $695.

When it comes to accessories, Taylor seemingly didn't spare any expense, opting for a Stephanie Gottlieb necklace - worth $4,250 - which bore Travis' NFL number #87, and an intricate Judith Leiber clutch in the shape of a football, which would have set her back $4,495.

It turns out, however, that not everyone is as besotted by the star's outfit as others, with some believing the $15k she spent on clothes could have gone to a better cause.

"Imagine all the poor she could help with that….but na," one penned on Twitter following the game.

Another tweeted: "I would kill for these jeans but they're probably more expensive than my federal student debt"

"I love her and she looks amazing but I would have expected her wearing something more fancy and according to the Super Bowl" wrote a third.

Others, however, seemingly can't get enough of Taylor fashion choice, despite the high price.

"ok but taylor swift's outfit at the superbowl and afterparty...god shes gorgeous," a fan penned.
