Rebel Wilson claims Adele 'hates her' after she says the singer 'didn’t like' being compared to her

Rebel Wilson claims Adele 'hates her' after she says the singer 'didn’t like' being compared to her

The Australian actress claims the British singer 'always quickly' turns away from her at events

It's only a matter of days until Hollywood icon Rebel Wilson's tell-all memoir is released to the public, and still, the hype continues to grow as she teases several A-list anecdotes.

Over the last few weeks, the Pitch Perfect star has been chatting with the press in order to promote the long-awaited work.

In the last seven days alone, 44-year-old Rebel has branded one big-name star an 'a**hole celebrity', and revealed the surprising news that she lost her virginity aged 35.

And this week, in another hint at the jaw-dropping stories she's set to lift the lid on in her explosive memoir, the mother-of-one has made several controversial claims about singer Adele.

In fact, actor Rebel has gone so far as to allege that the 'Someone Like You' singer 'hates' her, being that the duo previously used to be confused for one another by fans.

In an excerpt obtained by Us Weekly, the Australian on-screen star writes: "Some actresses would get offended if I called them plus-size in this book, so I have to be careful with what I say.

"This is why, I think, Adele hates me."

Rebel went on to say that, prior to her staggering five-and-a-half stone weight loss, when British hitmaker Adele was 'bigger', the pair were often mixed-up for each other.

Later in the work, Rebel goes on to open up about her 2020 weight loss experience, admitting she received the type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic in order to aid her lifestyle change - but insisted she no longer takes it.

"Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good," before adding: "Basically no one apart from my mom wanted me to lose weight."

Discussing her comparison with fellow mum-of-one Adele, however, she adds she wasn't sure how the singer would feel about the comparison.

"To be fair I’ve never asked her," she conceded, revealing that they'd crossed paths at several events, at which she claims Adele would 'always quickly' turn away.

"As if my fatness might rub off on her if I were near her for more than thirty seconds," Rebel - who welcomed her daughter Royce back in November 2022, weeks after coming out as gay with her partner Ramona Agruma - teasingly penned.

"She didn’t like being compared to ‘Fat Amy,’", she continued, referring to her much-loved Pitch Perfect character.
