Fans have rushed in to defend the Love Island star on Instagram

Fans have rushed in to defend Molly-Mae Hague after she got slammed by trolls over 'complaining' about overpriced coffee.

The former Love Island star took to Instagram over the weekend to share with her 7.9 million followers the latest snippet from her life but seemingly came under fire for her choice of caption.

Molly-Mae shared a snap of her pushing Bambi's pram bundled up in a fur jacket and an outfit from Pretty Little Thing on a walk with the caption: "Daily walk to grab an overpriced iced coffee."

The post seemed to really rub a whole lot of people up the wrong way with one Instagram user hitting out: "It’s not overpriced to you."

"Overpriced... really?" asked a second while a third chimed in: "Says someone who has money, we can’t put basic needs on the table, why not help someone instead of complaining?"

A fourth slammed: "No one's forcing you to buy the iced coffee..."

"You can well afford it, unlike the poor sops who are serving you!! Get a grip!!" penned another.

Others, however, came to the mum-of-one's defence, with one fan pointing out: "Someone can be a multimillionaire and still know an overprice when they see it. She didn’t grow up a millionaire."

A second added: "These comments are honestly unbelievable. Just because you have a sad life doesn’t mean you need to comment on other people’s, she’s got thousands of followers so I doubt your silly little comment will do anything."

Meanwhile, a third echoed: "It feels really sad reading some of these comments, social media isn’t a platform for nastiness."

"Why do it? Do you feel better about yourself if you put someone else down?? She is having a bit of fun with a comment whilst doing her job (advertising for PLT)," said another.

"I struggle to see why people follow others that they just want to slate. For your own mental health and for Molly’s, don’t follow her and just find something positive to do with your time to make a positive difference to someone else and yourself

Some people took issue with the former Love Island star commenting on getting an 'overpriced' coffee.

"We have one chance to live on Earth, do something good with this chance, don’t try and make someone else’s time bad."

The news follows Molly-Mae celebrating Bambi's 1st birthday bash where she shared 10 pictures from the celebration also featuring her fiancé Tommy Fury, showing a neutral-theme to the party decor.

This included matching white outfits, white and transparent balloons, white sweet treats and other yummy bits, white flowers and a multi-coloured birthday cake.

Molly-Mae captioned the post: "My one-year-old. Happy first Birthday to my little girl… I love you more every single day. You’re so beyond special Bambi... I’m so proud to call you my daughter."
