Megan Fox's engagement ring was designed to cause physical pain when taken off

Megan Fox's engagement ring was designed to cause physical pain when taken off

The Transformers star was previously engaged to Machine Gun Kelly before they called off their wedding.

Megan Fox has confirmed her engagement to Machine Gun Kelly is off, which means she’s probably slipped off her stunning promise ring, too.

MGK, 33, began dating the 37-year-old Jennifer’s Body star in May 2020 and soon started referring to themselves as ‘twin flames’.

In 2022, the musician - whose real name is Colson Baker - caught Megan by surprise when he proposed to her while on holiday in Puerto Rico.

At the time, MGK planted a gorgeous diamond and emerald ring designed by Stephen Webster on his fiancée’s finger.

However, speculation on the pair’s split began to circulate in 2023 after Megan deleted all evidence of the Dirt star from her Instagram.

Putting rumours to bed, the mother-of-three appeared on the popular Call Her Daddy podcast and confirmed to host Alex Cooper that the engagement had been cancelled.

Megan also confirmed that she still believes she and MGK are ‘twin souls’ and that there will always be a ‘tether’ between them.

So, now that the wedding is off, we can suspect that the Transformers actress will hand back her engagement ring - but it will come with a price.

In an interview with Vogue, MGK revealed that his former fiancée’s ring had been designed to ‘hurt’ her if she ever tried to take it off.

"The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet,” the Texan native told the publication in 2022.

“So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…”

He added: “Love is pain!”

While we get the general poetic concept, we're not too sure that the idea was well-thought-out - and fans seemed to agree.

Learning about MGK's Saw-inspired ring design, one person tweeted: "Can we move on from celebrity couples they're all insane like why does Megan Fox's engagement ring have THORNS in it."

Another wrote: "Uhhh why the fk are people romanticising Megan fox’s engagement ring having thorns so it’s painful for her to take off??? That’s really not ok??? Is nobody else wondering what the fk???"

"Someone help #meganfox RN. MGK really had the audacity to put THORNS in her engagement ring, so it HURTS when she tries to take it off. THAT'S A HUGE RED FLAG. SOMEONE HELP HER." commented a third.

MGK has also previously discussed the ring on Instagram: “I know tradition is one ring, but i designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.”

Megan announced her engagement to MGK was off.

At the time of their engagement, Megan told her social media followers: "Having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him.

"And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes... and then we drank each other's blood."

We have our fingers crossed that Megan wasn’t actually hurt when taking off that engagement ring!
