Hairy Bikers' Dave Myers shares emotional message as he returns to home county after cancer diagnosis

Fans are rushing to social media to praise the TV presenter

Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers has shared an emotional update as he returned to his home county following his cancer diagnosis.

The 66-year-old television presenter, best known as one half of the Hairy Bikers along with Si King, has just finished his cancer treatment which he first announced he was receiving back in May 2022.

During the latest episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West, which sees the pair explore the west coast of the UK, the BBC star shared a touching seven-word message over his health battle. Have a look:

On the programme, Dave, who has not yet specified what type of cancer he was diagnosed with, could be seen checking out the sights of Lancashire alongside Si, 57.

Towards the end of the episode, the dynamic duo reflected on their travels, with Si saying: "It’s great getting back here with my best mate. We didn’t think 18 months ago that we’d be on the bikes again wandering around Dave’s backyard and it's wonderful that we are."

Dave, who was smiling from ear-to-ear while Si spoke, added: "It’s been glorious. The motorcycling's been glorious. What can I say.

"It feels so good to be alive!"

Si previously spoke up about filming the series following Dave's cancer treatment.

"It's a series that we will always remember," he said. "Not that we won’t remember others.

"We are very privileged to do what we do and I think this one was particularly special in general because of Dave’s health and his sheer and utter determination and love for what he does."

He continued: "Especially to continue to do it while he was having treatment took remarkable courage and energy – and adds to why Dave and I will not forget it."

Viewers at home have clearly been loving the series, with many rushing to social media to share their praise for it.

One X user penned: "So very very happy to see you both on TV loving life, food and each others company again!"
