Coleen Rooney's son Kai reveals hilariously unsubtle nod to Wagatha Christie courtroom win spotted in family home

Coleen Rooney the iconic Wagatha Christie case against fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy in 2022

It's been two years since Coleen Rooney's win against fellow footballer's wife Rebekah Vardy in court, and apparently, the tabloid icon is still celebrating.

For those who've forgotten what many consider one of the UK's most shocking celebrity scandals of age - iconically dubbed 'Wagatha Christie' - let me give you a quick refresh.

Back in 2019, mother-of-four Coleen - wife of ex-Manchester United star Wayne Rooney - suspected that one of her Instagram followers might be selling stories on the ins and outs of her personal life to The Sun newspaper.

In an attempt to sniff out who it could be, the media star opted to limit the individuals that could see her social media story, upon which she'd upload fake stories.

This, she hoped, would prove who was selling the information to the press.

In a bombshell plot twist, the now 38-year-old notoriously broke the news with four words: "It's... Rebekah Vardy's account".

Fellow WAG Rebekah - wife of Leicester City star Jamie Vardy - instantly denied the claims, and instead attempted to sue Coleen for libel.

Following a lengthy, high-fashion court-case that had the room HOOKED, the judge ruled in Coleen's favour on the basis Coleen's social media post was 'substantially true'.

At the time, the judge concluded: "I have found that Ms Vardy was party to the disclosure to The Sun... Ms Vardy knew of and condoned this behaviour, actively engaging in it by directing Ms Watt to the private Instagram account, sending her screenshots of Ms Rooney's posts, drawing attention to items of potential interest to the press, and answering additional queries raised by the press via Ms Watt."

Rebekah was subsequently ordered to pay a jaw-dropping total of an estimated £3million, including both of the WAGs' legal bills.

Reacting to the ruling, Rebekah said the judge had 'got it wrong' but that she had no plans to appeal as 'the case is over'.

Following her victory, Coleen - who shares sons Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five, with sportsman hubby Wayne - went on to star in a Disney+ docu-series about the case, and even wrote a book.

She also gave several high-profile interviews with national news outlets, in which she lifted the lid on the case.

The most iconic of these tell-all chats was with fashion frontrunner Vogue, during which Coleen enjoyed a photoshoot outside Liverpool's Liver Buildings, donning a signature detective-style trench coat and an investigative stare.

The words 'Wife, mother, detective, superstar' were splashed across the front cover, which was hotly-debated by millions of fans following the magazine's release.

And now, in an unexpected Instagram upload, Coleen's eldest son Kai has inadvertently revealed that his mother keeps a colossal, printed version of the Vogue cover in their Cheshire home.

While putting a clothing haul on his Instagram Story, the huge poster is very clearly visible behind him, implying his mum isn't quite ready to stop reminiscing on the high-profile trial just yet.

Reacting to the magazine cover at the time, one fan wrote: "Coleen Rooney on the cover of British Vogue being described as a ‘detective’ and styled as Inspector Gadget feels absolutely correct to me."

Another added: "Hun culture has peaked with this Coleen Rooney British Vogue cover. 10/10 no notes."
