Christine McGuinness says she's ‘not allowed’ to post kids online after Paddy McGuinness split

Christine McGuinness says she's ‘not allowed’ to post kids online after Paddy McGuinness split

The mum-of-three has defended herself after criticism for not showing her family on Instagram

Christine McGuinness has said she’s ‘not allowed’ to show her children online.

The 35-year-old shares three children with her ex-husband Paddy McGuinness: 10-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and their youngest, six-year-old Felicity, all of whom have autism.

The model and comedian were married since 2011, and announced their split back in July 2022.

After over a decade of marriage, the star couple said they’d come to the decision ‘a while ago’, but they planned to continue ‘moving forward as the best parents’ they could be and ‘live happily in our family home together’.

Christine recently shared a gorgeous snap to Instagram, walking along in black gymwear, shades, white jacket and a cap in her hand, very much giving the off-duty model vibes.

The mum-of-three wrote in the caption of the snaps from Tuesday (15 August): “Just minding my own business, wishing others could do the same.

“I’m probably in Rotterdam right now who knows, this could be anywhere!”

Most of Christine’s followers left positive comments, praising her cool outfit and telling her to ‘ignore the haters’.

However, one wrote: “I used to like the real family pics with you children's antics. You don't post them anymore. I hope you are well. Unfollow.”

Christine defended herself in the comments.

To which the former Real Housewives of Cheshire star responded: “I am not allowed to show my children, it’s not my choice.”

Christine has previously mentioned this ban on social media posts of the kids before. Posting snaps for Leo and Penelope’s birthday at the beginning of July, she shared pics from the celebrations with herself and the cake.

The star wrote in the caption of the happy Instagram post: “If there was ever a day I wanted to share a picture of them it’s today!

“But when they’re old enough they can decide for themselves.”

Back in March, Christine had said that living with Paddy ‘really works’ despite their split.

Speaking to the Mirror, the model opened up about their relationship, explaining that they still talk ‘an awful lot’ and she knows she can rely on the TV presenter.

“I was with Patrick from when I was 19-years-old, so for 15 years I’ve pretty much grown up with them and obviously, he's been in the industry for a long time," she said.

"We are very close, we’re family no matter what. It’s amazing he’s there if and when I need him and the same the other way around.

"If he needed any advice from me, I'm not really sure what I can advise him on, maybe stuff with the children, but he could always ask me. If I got lost on the motorway he’d be the first person I’d call."
