Caitlyn Jenner hits back at critics who slammed her over brutal response to OJ Simpson’s death

Caitlyn Jenner has previously tweeted about OJ's death

Following the death of Orenthal James 'OJ' Simpson that was announced yesterday (11 April), Caitlyn Jenner has hit back at critics who didn't take kindly to her online reaction.

OJ passed away following a battle with cancer.

His family shared the following statement: "On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.

"He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

OJ was an NFL star, most famous for playing with the Buffalo Bills as a running back.

Transgender media personality Caitlyn, who was an award-winning Olympian pre-transition, and the ex-spouse of Kardashian-family matriarch Kris Jenner, had a personal relationship with OJ.

Robert Kardashian, Kris' first husband, represented OJ in court when he was on trial for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1995.

It was dubbed 'the trial of the century', lasting 11 months.

OJ denied the charges, but many believed he would be found guilty.

He had previously pleaded 'no contest' to domestic violence charges during his relationship with Nicole.

The televised trial saw more than 150 million people tune in and watch him receive a highly controversial 'not guilty' verdict.

Following the announcement of his death, Caitlyn tweeted: "Good Riddance. #OJSimpson."

She also 'liked' a series of savage tweets that said OJ was guilty.

Many people were quick to point out that Caitlyn was once sued over a fatal car accident.

In 2015, Jenner struck the rear of a car being driven by Kimberly Howe on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California.

CNN reported that the lawsuit of Howe's children stated Jenner's actions propelled Howe's vehicle 'into the opposite lanes of traffic'.

“Ms. Howe’s vehicle was then struck head-on by another vehicle, killing her", the lawsuit stated.

One person tweeted Caitlyn: "Not the pot calling the kettle black."

Another said: "Didn't you kill someone, too?"

Caitlyn has now responded to the criticism.

She tweeted today (12 April): "I know you all think it’s cute to compare a fatal car accident (with multiple vehicles involved) to a BRUTAL MURDER… But "Remember…

"OJ said something to the effect of…

"I could kill her (Nicole) and get away with it bc I’m OJ."
