Brooke Shields reveals Bradley Cooper rushed to help her after suffering seizure outside restaurant

Brooke Shields reveals Bradley Cooper rushed to help her after suffering seizure outside restaurant

Bradley Cooper came to the rescue when Brooke Shields suffered a seizure outside a restaurant

Brooke Shields has revealed she was rushed to hospital in September after suffering a terrifying seizure in a restaurant.

The film star, 58, was only a few days shy of making her debut in her very own one-woman show at the jazz restaurant Café Carlyle when the ordeal began.

Brooke collapsed ‘headfirst into the wall’ while having a grand mal seizure outside the restaurant L’Artusi in New York.

The Jane the Virgin star was left ‘frothing at the mouth’ while having the seizure, which also saw her ‘go totally blue’.

Weeks after the incident happened, Shields has opened up about her health scare for the very first time and shared how Bradley Cooper rushed to her aid and held her hand in the ambulance as she was rushed into intensive care.

“I was waiting for an Uber. I get down to the bottom of the steps and I start evidently looking weird, and [the people I was with] were like, ‘Are you okay?’,” she said in an interview with Glamour for the US Women of the Year issue.

“I walk into the restaurant L’Artusi, and I go to the sommelier who had just taken an hour to watch my run-through. I go in, two women come up to me; I don’t know them. Everything starts to go black.

“Then my hands drop to my side and I go headfirst into the wall. I start having a grand mal seizure."

Brooke explained that Bradley, 48, was called after a waiter was unable to reach her husband, Chris Henchy, 59. An assistant was aware that the A Star is Born actor and director was close by and once Bradley heard about what happened to Brooke, he rushed over to L’Artusi to help.

“His assistant called Bradley and said, ‘Brooke’s on the ground. Chris isn’t around. Go get her.’ And he came, and somebody called the ambulance. And then it was like, I walked in with Jesus,” she shared.

The actor said the ambulance journey was ‘surreal and odd’, with Cooper telling Brooke: “I’m going to hospital with you.”

Brooke and Bradley have been friends for over a decade after they starred together in the horror film The Midnight Meat Train in 2008.

“It means frothing at the mouth, totally blue, trying to swallow my tongue. The next thing I remember, I'm being loaded into an ambulance. I have oxygen on. And Bradley f*****g Cooper is sitting next to me holding my hand.”

The Pretty Baby star explained that the grand mal seizure happened because she was drinking too much water and was low in sodium.

Doctors urged her to have more salt in her diet and thankfully she went on to make a full recovery and presented her one-woman show as planned when it debuted on 12 September.

We’re so glad you’re feeling better, Brooke!
