Until now, details have remained sparse on the plot. All we know officially is that the new season will have no connection to the first, with new characters, a new storyline and a brand new creepy house, based on Henry James' The Turn of The Screw.
It's set in England in the 1980s and, following their au pair's death, Henry Wingrave (played by Henry Thomas) hires a young nanny to look after his niece and nephew, Flora and Miles, who are both orphans.
The children (played by Amelie Bea Smith and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) reside at Bly Manor along with the estate's chef, Owen, groundskeeper Jamie and housekeeper Mrs Grose.
Things take a freaky turn when the new nanny begins to notice strange figures creeping around the property, which nobody else seems to be able to see.

As Netflix explain, "the manor house is filled with centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be unearthed in this chilling gothic romance".
And sending a shudder down our spine, the streaming platform explain: "At Bly Manor, dead doesn't mean gone".
Right, looks like we won't be watching this one alone!
Speaking about the series earlier this year, director Mike Flanagan confirmed the show was on schedule, despite the pandemic.

"We had already wrapped before the whole Covid shutdown hit all the productions," he said while on CinemaBlend's ReelBlend podcast.
"We had a couple of weeks where we had to kind of figure out how to continue post remotely. But my post team also, you know, where I've been with now, my whole career, they cracked it real fast and we've been doing everything on these virtual sessions."
The Haunting of Bly Manor will drop on Netflix on 9th October. One to mark in the calendar, guys!
