Settling down to watch McMillions, you might think you're in for a nice film about Happy Meals and feel-good McDonald's monopoly wins - but how wrong you would be.
HBO's McMillions lands on Sky and NOWTV today, and looks at the McDonald's Monopoly fraud in fine detail, illuminating everything from backstabbing and family betrayal to shocking links to New York's Italian mafia.
And it's no surprise that, despite having been available to watch for less than a day, UK viewers have been blown away by it already.

"I'm going to wait until everyone has seen it... but the final episode of #McMillions was proper jaw-dropping, gripping and twist-filled television," one person wrote. "Right down to the final second. If you're after a new WTF doc after Tiger King, then all episodes are on Now TV/Sky."
While another agreed: "Is anyone else watching #McMillions? Because this is absolutely batsh*t - and I say that having read a couple of articles about this scandal beforehand."

As a fourth chipped in: "Stumbled across #McMillions on NowTV. Only two episodes in and it's up there with the best documentaries I've ever seen." (A bold claim, but we have to agree...)
In case you need reminding, the McDonald's monopoly scam took place between 1995 and 2001, and was orchestrated by a man known as 'Uncle Jerry' - who was really an ex cop named Jermone Jacobson.

He worked at Simon Marketing (the firm who dreamt up the promotion) and stole a selection of the best prizes over the years.
Plus, he also chose the winners himself, ensuring that several of his close family and friends won the most valuable rewards on offer, from sports cars to cash prizes to holidays.
But it didn't stop there, as throughout the years, 'Uncle Jerry' begun to get a little too confident in his scheme, involving a whole cohort of questionable characters including the Italian Mafia and stealing $24 million (£19.6 million) worth of prizes.
The scam was first tackled by FBI agent Doug Matthews, who was a new recruit at the time, in Jacksonville, Florida.

After the FBI was given an anonymous tip-off, Doug begun researching the scam tirelessly, and, when documentary makers James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte came across him, the six part docu-series was born.
If you want a documentary where you'll literally be gasping in disbelief, this is it.
McMillions has already aired on HBO in the US, it is now also available to watch Sky Documentaries and NOWTV in the UK.
