Made In Chelsea star Ollie Locke talked of his heartbreak on the show last night after he was told he couldn't get married at his dream venue because he's gay.

The 31-year-old reality star told his pal Sophie Hermann about the snub, lamenting that while gay marriage was now permitted by law, there was still a long way to go before all churches would allow it.

Check out the devastating clip below:

Discussing their upcoming ceremony, Sophie asked Ollie and Gareth where they were going to tie the knot.

"We had this idea of getting married in this beautiful church, and we found this beautiful church and like going through the process of actually having a wedding there, and how are we going to do it, and then we found out that basically we can't actually get married there," Gareth told her.

Ollie then chipped in: "They don't do gay marriages."

Looking visibly upset, he added: "Obviously I must admit that was the most upset I'd been for a long time because it kind of... we've obviously fought for so many years for all of this, and we're so delighted that it's now a legal situation that we are allowed to get married and we wanted to celebrate that.

"For someone to literally turn around and say, 'you can't I'm afraid, we'll give you a blessing'."

This is because the Church of England still does not permit gay marriage, despite the law doing so.

It didn't stop there, either, as the pair's honeymoon destinations were also limited because they're gay.

Yep, they realised while researching countries to celebrate that many still opposed to homosexuality, meaning they could well feel unsafe, or even be in danger there as a pair of newlyweds.

"There's somewhere that everyone goes on their honeymoons that we can't go," Ollie said.

"We just can't go there out of principle because they, well.." Gareth started.

"They don't agree with gay marriage," Ollie interjected.

The couple were long term friends before getting together (

"It's one of those things where until you're doing something like this you don't really realise how unequal things are still".

Taking to social media after watching the gut-wrenching scenes, one MIC viewer wrote: "My heart literally breaks for Gareth and Ollie...the world has so much catching up to do #MadeInChelsea".

Meanwhile, another penned: "The fact Ollie and Gareth can't go and get married where they want or have their honeymoon where they want in 2020 is heartbreaking needs to change ASAP #madeinchelsea".

"Thats disgusting in this society. I have gay friends who are in the same situation. Some holiday destinations are out of the question. I hope you find somewhere better," a third fan of the pair wrote to them online.

If you needed a reminder that we still have so much work to do, this is it.
