Big news, Reese Witherspoon fans. Her new series, Little Fires Everywhere, has just been given a UK release date - and it's *so* soon.

The series - based on Celeste Ng's 2017 novel of the same name - is set in Ohio in the late 90s, and focuses on the intertwined lives of two women - Elena Richardson (played by Reese) and Mia Warren (Kerri Washington).

And it's coming to Amazon Prime for UK viewers on May 22nd, following a successful US launch on Hulu back in March.

With a similar vibe to Big Little Lies, the series explores themes of race and class, and is packed full of deceit, warring parents and suburban teenage angst.

The series focuses on Elena Richardson (played by Reese) and Mia Warren (Kerri Washington) (

When Elena Richardson rents the upstairs half of her rental home to Mia Warren, an artist, and her teenage daughter, Pearl (Lexi Underwood), the Richardson's lives are quickly upended.

As Pearl becomes friends with the Richardson children, she develops a crush on one of the older siblings, Trip (Jordan Elsass).

Elena condescendingly offers mum Mia a job doing housekeeping in their home, and she accepts just to keep an eye on her daughter.

Here, she meets the Richardson's troubled daughter Izzy (Megan Stott) and Mia begins offering her advice which ends up landing her in trouble.

Angered by Mia's secretive nature, Elena decides to investigate her new family friend's past, discovering troubling truths along the way.

One year after first meeting the Warrens, a fire breaks out in the Richardson home - and suspicions begin to mount as to who could have been behind it...

But was Mia to blame? Or could it be a shadow from her past?

The idea for the adaptation first came about when Reese chose the book as her September 2017 book club pick.

The 43-year-old actress then proposed the idea to Kerri Washington, and together they approached show-runner Liz Tigelaar.

The eight-part series was directed by Lynn Shelton, with Rosemarie DeWitt (Linda McCullough), Joshua Jackson (Bill Richardson), Jade Pettyjohn (Lexie Richardson), and Gavin Lewis (Moody Richardson) making up the main cast.

And, across the pond, people are already dubbing it "the best series [they] every watched".

So, we can be pretty sure it's going to be epic.

Little Fires Everywhere lands on Amazon Prime on 22nd May.
