Still obsessed with High School Musical even after all these years? We are, and we're not ashamed to admit it.
The film that blessed us with Zac Efron has since spawned a brand new a fairly meta-spin off with the longest show title known to man: High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
The first series, released in 2019, was a tongue-in-cheek look at how East High School, the original school from the High School Musical films, was putting on their very own musical version of High School Musical.

And now, we can finally see what happened to Nini, Ricky and co after the emotional season one season, with the second season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series finally dropping on Disney Plus on Friday.
Well, that's our weekend plans sorted.
Season two sees Nini (Olivia Rodrigo) and Ricky (Joshua Bassett) enjoying their very fitting high school romance after the pair exchanged 'I love you' in the season one finale. However, the teenage dream quickly ends after Nini reveals she's leaving East High to go to a prestigious acting school in a different state.

The series will then see Nini navigate her new world in a different and elite academy, as well as keep up her new long-distance relationship with Ricky and her pals from East High.
Speaking about the new series, Olivia Rodrigo - who had a number one with her song Drivers Licence - told Entertainment Weekly: "One of my favourite things about season 2 is Nini's character arc and her growth is not related to boys at all.
"She's her own new person and learning her own lessons and all of that is sort of sans boys.
"Nini is finding her footing in this crazy world and finding out what she likes and how she wants to be treated and that's something that Olivia is also discovering as well."
