We are now only a few weeks away from the end of 2020 (yay!) and while that may be a cause for celebration for most of us, for Gossip Girl fans this may be incredibly stressful. Why? The hit teen-drama is leaving Netflix on 31 December.
Yep, you only have a few weeks left to binge watch all six seasons and 121 episodes before it leaves the streamer for the foreseeable future.
The good news is that fans who wanted to catch up on the OG series before the HBO Max reboot drops next year, or people who have had it on their watch-list for some time but haven't been able to get round to watching it, now have a reason to have a major binge-fest.

So, for those of you who want to watch before it leaves Netflix, the show is narrated by an unknown blogger called "Gossip Girl" and it follows the lives several privileged upper-class teens living in Manhattan's Upper East Side.
In the first season, Upper East Side teen Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) returns after a mysterious absence. She is reunited with her frenemy Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and meets her love interest, a dashing, aspiring writer from Brooklyn called Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley).
In other Gossip Girl related news, the show is receiving the remake treatment. Set to be released in 2021, the new iteration, also called Gossip Girl will follow a new set of teens in Manhattan's Upper East Side.
The cast includes Eli Brown, Zion Moreno, Jordan Alexander, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Savannah Smith and Thomas Doherty. They were spotted filming on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art two weeks ago, marking the start of production.

Filming was delayed in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Filming is also set to take place in Vancouver and Los Angeles.
The new 10-part series will begin eight years after the original and follow a new generation of New York's teen elite.
The reboot was first announced in July 2019 and the synopsis, according to Deadline, reads: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl.

"The prestige series will address just how much social media - and the landscape of New York itself - has changed in the intervening years."
Sounds exciting!
