Episode four of the latest series left viewers with a massive cliffhanger, as AC-12 makes a huge breakthrough in the investigation, but their attempt to interview a key witness goes wrong. And now it looks like they've brought in their secret weapon: Carmichael.

We last saw the no-nonsense DCS Carmichael during series five, when she was drafted in as an independent investigator from AC-3 after the integrity of Superintendent Ted Hastings roused suspicions.

"Pat's back, I can't remember what she's doing there, nor would I be allowed to blab, but suffice to say she's got some new clobber and she's ready to bust some balls," says Maxwell Martin.
Now with Ted's forced retirement on the horizon, Carmichael could be in the position to take control. But with the restructure of the anti-corruption units, is this the end of AC-12.Maxwell Martin has appeared in Motherland, Bleak House, and And Then There Were None. She returns for the final two episodes of series six.
