More than 20,000 people have signed a petition calling on Netflix to cancel new TV series Good Omens - despite it being made by Amazon Prime.
The six-part series, which is adapted from Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's 1990 fantasy novel, was released on Amazon Prime last month.
It stars David Tennant as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale and follows their characters working together to prevent the coming of the antichrist and an imminent apocalypse.
Following its release, the joint Amazon and BBC production has come under fire by Christians, marshalled by America's Return to Order campaign, who claim the show is "another step to make satanism appear normal, light and acceptable".
The disgruntled Christian group, which is a leg of the US Foundation for a Christian Civilisation, also claim the series "mocks God's wisdom" and complain that God is voiced by a woman, Oscar winner Frances McDormand.
According to The Guardian, the group believes, "this type of video makes light of Truth, Error, Good and Evil, and destroys the barriers of horror that society still has for the devil."
However, they have accidentally addressed their concerns and hopes for cancellation to Netflix, Amazon Prime's streaming competitor.
The book's author Neil Gaiman responded to the petition on Twitter.
He wrote: "I love that they are going to write to Netflix to try and get #GoodOmens cancelled. Says it all really. This is so beautiful ... Promise me you won't tell them?"
Meanwhile, the publisher and science fiction critic Cheryl Morgan posted: "Miraculously God has already done it. Don't tell them She put it on Amazon instead."
