A cheeky guy has appeared on This Morning today revealing the prank he played on his partner for Valentine's weekend.

David Burrows, promised girlfriend Sue Pakey a 'spa' weekend for the loved up holiday, but instead what she received was a tour of Spar stores.

David, 37 and Sue, 44, from Birmingham explained to show hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford how the joke went down, beginning with him promising her a romantic weekend.

She told Eamonn and Ruth: ""He was like 'can you pack a bag? I'm taking you on a spa break', so I was like 'OK, then'".

But soon after getting in the car, they stopped at a Spar, although she thought initially it was to buy snacks for the trip.

Her suspicions however began to grow when they stopped again at another Spar retailer.

The realisation really hit from there.

Eamonn mentioned he thought Ruth wouldn't have been best impressed had he done it to her (

"When we got to the second spar I was like why are we stopping again?"

"He was like this is your SPAR. Your SPAR tour," she added.

We're sorry Sue, we're sure you deserved a special treat but this is LOL.

Many on Twitter agreed too, taking to the platform to share in the funny moment.

The first said: "A man took his mrs to different spar shops in brum for valentines n said this is your "spar" weekend wtf".

While a second added: "Imagine taking your mrs round the local spar supermarket for Valentine's Day. Having her on thinking she's getting a free dressing gown and a day in the sauna"

A third penned: "Bloke who took his girlfriend on a 'Spar' breakto 9 different Spars...total legend".

All these tweets came paired with crying laughing emojis, naturally.

However, some were harder to please branding the segment the "cringeiest" segment ever.

Valentine's Day is pretty cringe anyway if you ask us, so let's all lighten up shall we?
