Sophie Turner has blasted those calling for a remake of Game of Thrones season eight as "disrespectful".

With the end of any beloved TV series, there will always be a number of people who are unhappy with how show wrapped up, and Game of Thrones is no different with its own divisive ending.

Scores have taken to social media to vent their frustrations over the ending - namely Daenerys Targaryen becoming the Mad Queen (spoiler alert) among many other things in the final episode of the HBO fantasy drama.

But it wasn't just the finale as die-hard Thrones fans also took issue with the show throughout, pointing out inconsistencies, errors and accidental water bottles and coffee cups left in scenes - and some are so annoyed they've now set up a petition demanding a remake for season eight.

However, Sophie's had her say on this petition already saying it is "disrespectful" to everyone who "worked tirelessly" on the series.

"The thing about Game of Thrones that's always been amazing is the fact that there's always been crazy twists and turns, right from season one with Ned's beheading," she told the New York Times.

"So Daenerys becoming something of the Mad Queen - it shouldn't be such a negative thing for fans. It's a shock for sure, but I think it's just because it hasn't gone their way."

She added: "All of these petitions and things like that - I think it's disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season.

"Like 50-something night shoots. So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because it's not what they want to see is just disrespectful."

GoT stars Isaac Hempstead Wright, who played Bran Stark, and Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) have also expressed their disappointment over the petition.

The Change.org petition, titled 'Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers', has garnered over 1,300,000 signatures (at the time of writing).

It reads: "David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.

"This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!"

Seeing as some battle scenes took a massive 55 days to film, you can see Sophie's point. Yikes.
