Maisie Williams has responded to *that* Game of Thrones sex scene between her character Ayra Stark and Gendry, which made people see her in a whole new light.

While some viewers were cheering Ayra on as she got down and dirty with Gendry, played by Joe Dempsie, some took to social media saying they felt "uncomfortable" watching the scene, likening Maisie to a "little sister".

But if you felt a bit awkward watching the sex scenes yourself, just imagine what it must have felt like for Maisie watching the second episode of Game of Thrones with her family.

On Tuesday evening, the 22-year-old tweeted: "If u feel uncomfortable, just know that my mother and my stepdad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too ahahakillmeehehe [sic]."

Her post has been liked over 430,000 times and retweeted 88,000 (at the time of writing).

People were living for her response, with one fan replying: "I enjoyed it! So glad to see a young woman owning her sexuality and taking charge of her own pleasure."

"I was actually happy to see a young woman take control of an important decision! She has grown so much and wanted to feel normal! We're so proud of her! Also proud of you! You're so talented and see you grown as a professional actress is [awesome]," added another.

Maisie's BFF and GoT co-star Sophie Turner has already shared her thoughts sex scene in a hilarious Instagram story as she sipped on a glass of wine, making a rather NSFW joke.

"In honour of Easter, I guess Game Of Thrones wanted the storyline to have a little Easter bunny hop, hop, hopping into that p***y. And that's the tea," Sophie joked in the video, while tagging her friend Maisie.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about her reaction after realising she had to film a sex scene, Maisie explained she thought it was all prank.

"At first, I thought it was a prank," she said. "I was like, 'Yo, good one'. And [the showrunners were] like, 'No, we haven't done that this year'. Oh f**k!"

We're counting down the days until the next Game of Thrones airs...
