Lydia Bright has been forced to speak out and defend herself after vile trolls criticised her for having a couple of glasses of wine while her daughter was in bed.

Like the rest of us, former TOWIE star Lydia is currently in lockdown with her three month-old Loretta.

And the first-time-mum took to Instagram on Friday night to celebrate making it to the weekend with a bottle of wine in hand (who can blame her!?).

The next day, despite only having a couple of glasses, the 30-year-old posted a slightly hungover snap from her bed.

"I didn't put covers on my bed last night. I'm drinking coke at 5am. Don't judge," she joked.

But to her surprise, she was hit with an onslaught of abusive messages from trolls mum-shaming her for having a drink.

"Hungover??? It's just you and your baby... wise to be getting drunk is it," one wrote.

While another commented: "You shouldn't be drinking while looking after your baby. That's abuse you know".

Sharing screen-grabs of the offending messages on her Instagram story, Lydia clapped back: "After a year of no alcohol (due to being pregnant) I had my first glass of wine last week.

"Last night I had a couple of glasses... I wasn't drunk falling over and Loretta was in bed.

"I have a small hangover which is already lifting because clearly my body isn't used to alcohol after such. Long time. Give a girl a break!"

After Lydia shared the ridiculous messages, she was flooded with support from fans, who backed her up.

"Good morning! So you had a glass of wine last night so what...," one wrote. "I for one hope you enjoyed it and that when you feel like another glass of wine you enjoy that one to (sic).

"You are an amazing mummy and an honest one at that. You shared the good the bad and the ugly of the last few weeks, which not everyone would be so keen to share.

"So to the perfect Paulines, judgemental Julies and trolling Tinas... get a bloody life and have a wine love! Xx".

In reply, Lydia shared another story, reading: "Cheers for the messages guys. If you'll pardon the pub. Seems like most people agree with me".

Amen to that! We're in the middle of a global pandemic for goodness sake, let the poor women have a casual vino!
