It's almost that time again. Yes, the 94th Oscars will be soon rolling around on 27th March and will be sure to give us plenty of iconic fashion moments to revel in.

All of Hollywood's finest stars are set to hit the red carpet in their glad rags, and we're totally here for it.

In honour of the highly-anticipated event of the season, Tyla is taking a look back at the best-dressed guests of all time at the Oscars.

This is the definitive list of our most-loved red carpet looks from the awards ceremony. And in no particular order...

Who are the best-dressed guests at the Oscars ever?

Jennifer Lawrence, 2013

If you have any sort of memory when it comes to defining cultural moments, you'll surely remember Jennifer Lawrence's gorgeous cream Christian Dior Haute Couture gown at the 2013 Oscars.

It was, of course, the full skirt on the $4 million dress that led her to have an unfortunate fall on the steps on the way up to collect her award.

This didn't stop the actor from taking it in her stride and making light of the situation in true JLaw-style. Besides, her fall wouldn't have had the same Hollywood drama without this stunning dress.

Billy Porter, 2019

Billy Porter's part-tuxedo-part-dress is as Oscar-defining as it gets. The actor struck a delicate balance between both a 'masculine' and 'feminine' moment at the 2019 awards, making it his own.

The decision for Porter to wear the velvet Christian Siriano gown helped him to feel more 'alive'. He told Vogue, "I felt alive. I felt free. And open, and radiant. And beautiful! Which has not always been the case for me. I haven't always felt so good about myself. It really is astonishing how much of an effect clothes have on your spirit."

Cher, 1986

Tyla journalist Gregory Robinson couldn't resist choosing Cher's delectable witch-inspired-turned-showgirl four-piece Oscars gown.

He said: "Cher's outfit to the 1986 Oscars is emblematic of how to make a fashion statement. Designed by Bob Mackie, it consisted of a humungous feather headpiece to match her jewel-encrusted black ensemble."

Lupita Nyong'o, 2014

It was difficult not to compare Lupita Nyong'o's incredible Prada gown at the 2014 Oscars to that of Cinderella.

From the delicate shimmer on the chiffon skirt to the stunning sky-blue hue, the actor was practically bursting with elegance on the red carpet.

Zendaya, 2015

Zendaya's form-fitting ivory off-the-shoulder dress by Vivienne Westwood is a firm favourite for fans of the actor.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home star oozed goddess vibes with the silky slip dress, but it wasn't her no-doubt grown-up dress that was a source of controversy at the 2015 Oscars. It was her hair.

The actor took to Instagram shortly after the event to tell fans that she encountered disgusting racial 'slurs and disrespect' for wearing her hair in locs at the event.

Zendaya cleared up the discourse in a statement, writing: "My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of colour that our hair is good enough."

We certainly think she looked absolutely radiant on the night.

Uma Thurman, 1995

Uma Thurman is not only a pop-culture icon but a fashionable one at that. Her scoop-neck, delicate periwinkle gown worn to the 1995 Oscars was undoubtedly a defining moment in fashion.

Madonna, 1991

If you were looking for a touch of old-school Hollywood glamour at the Oscars, Madonna is it.

The singer performed the song Sooner or Later onstage at the awards show and took Michael Jackson along as her date. Yes, really.

It's no surprise that Marilyn Monroe was Madonna's look-inspiration on the night. With that stunning plunging sweetheart neckline, figure-hugging silhouette and of course, all the sparkles, designer Bob Mackie certainly made sure the singer had all eyes on her.
