The Towie star has updated fans on her healing following the fatal incident

Yazmin Oukhellou has updated her fans with how she's healing following the devastating car crash that killed her boyfriend, Jake McLean.

The Towie star suffered the horrific incident whilst on a holiday to Turkey in July of last year, and while emergency services were called to the scene, Jake, just 33 at the time, tragically lost his life.

Nearly a year on, Yazmin has since showed followers the scars running up and down her arm that prove just how fortunate she was to have survived the ordeal.

Jake had been driving the pair to a friend's villa in Bodrum, when he lost control and the Mercedes saloon plummeted down a verge after swerving off the road.

Yazmin, who was asleep in the car at the time, awoke to the vehicle cascading down the cliff before landing upside down and crushed to the floor.

The 28-year-old suffered severe injuries to her right arm, which was trapped behind her back and jammed through the sun roof.

In order to escape, the reality TV star was forced to break her own arm to get free.

Speaking of the incident, Yazmin told The Sun: "I knew I had to get out of the car and somehow I found the strength to free my arm by lifting it with my left hand, moving my right arm up and dropping it back down for what felt like forever until I snapped it free."

And while the act ended up saving her life, it has left her with some pretty deep scars.

Yazmin took to Instagram to share footage with her 763k followers of the treatment she is undergoing to improve the appearance of the scars.

She tagged the Instagram page Studio Avari - a salon based in Essex - in the reveal, alongside two raised hands emojis.

In the post, a clinician can be seen using a laser to treat Yazmin's scars.

From the post, it's clear that even after nine months, Yazmin's scars are very deep-set and still have a long way to go in terms of healing.

And this isn't the first time the social media star has revealed her scars from the traumatic experience.

Back in November, she penned an inspirational quote that read: "Every scar that you have is a reminder not just that you got hurt, but that you survived."
