Taylor Swift tickets listed for as much as £19,000 after Ticketmaster crashes

Millions are trying to get their hands on Taylor tickets.

Taylor Swift is getting ready to go on tour in 2023 and it looks like everyone in the world is trying to get their hands on tickets.

This week, the first batch of presale tickets went on sale for the US leg of her Eras tour and it wasn't long before the battle to see Taylor turned into a virtual Hunger Games.

Ticketmaster was so overwhelmed by the number of fans logging on to get tickets that the whole website briefly went bust.

A statement from Ticketmaster explained that they had experienced 'historically unprecedented demand' with 'millions' of people queuing up for tickets, resulting in 'intermittent issues' on the website, from checkout glitches to frozen queues.

Although the presale was initially just open to 'verified' Taylor Swift fans, 'hundreds of thousands' of tickets have already been sold.

So, while fans were patiently waiting on Ticketmaster - for hours in some cases - tickets were being listed on resale sites for astronomical prices.

On StubHub, for example, tickets for the tour are being touted for $22,700 (£19,000), The Guardian reports.

Ticketmaster is urging disappointed fans to 'hang tight' with some presale events being rescheduled to Wednesday (16 November) to break up the crowds.

Ticketmaster updated fans on the 'huge demand' for presale tickets.

Those who haven't been lucky enough to get their hands on tickets just yet have been blowing up Twitter with complaints about the brutal presale.

"The Taylor Swift ticket presale is proof that the Hunger Games could actually happen in real life," joked one fan.

Another tweeted that the presale event ruined their day, complaining that they 'waited 30 mins in the queue... just for it to crash after I clicked purchase on my secured seats.'

While a third commented: "I’m sorry I can’t come to work tomorrow I got waitlisted by Ticketmaster for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour presale and I need to spend the night crying thank you for understanding."

Tickets are already being listed on resale sites.

Taylor Swift's Eras tour will be the popstar's first tour since 2018, and is set to feature support acts like Paramore, beabadoobee, GAYLE, Phoebe Bridgers, HAIM, and girl in red.

The 'Anti-Hero' singer announced the long-awaited tour after the release of her tenth studio album Midnights.

The tour, which will run from March to August 2023, is expected to be followed by a European leg and, after watching the US presale go up in flames, UK fans are already worried.

Best of luck, Swifties. You'll need it!
