S Club 7's Hannah Spearritt says she’s homeless and sleeps in office with two children

The former S Club 7 star was made homeless after her landlord sold the family home

S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt has revealed that she’s struggled with homelessness following her time in the beloved band.

The 41-year-old has spoken about being in multiple temporary homes with her young family, after being forced to leave their home after their landlord decided to sell the property.

She spoke about the six-month period stating that she’d lived in a friend’s office with her partner and two children.

“Our landlord needed the money and the property sold so fast,” she told The Sun.

She continued: “What screwed us is we didn't have time to find another place. We had somewhere over Christmas but ran out of time before we could move in. It was just a couple of weeks.

“We were allowed to stay in our friend's office. We just used it as our living room.”

Despite the difficult living arrangement, the star tried to make the best of the situation and said she just had to ‘deal with it’.

The Primeval actor has also candidly spoken about the pitfalls of fame, telling the publication that she earned considerably less than people may have expected.

"People think we must all be millionaires but sadly it's just not true. It was what it was and we enjoyed ourselves at the time," she said, revealing that the band's wages were much lower compared to the salaries of those around them.

At the height of S Club 7’s success, Spearritt earned an estimated £150,000 per year but has struggled in recent years after her café closed.

The former singer experienced health issues that left her virtually bedbound for over three months.

She told The Sun: "But ultimately we're still here. And the café will open. We're looking forward to the future."

Other members of the band have faced similar issues, with her bandmate and ex-partner Paul Cattermole selling his Brit award for £66,000 as he struggled to pay for essentials.

Likewise, Jo O’Meara had to put her singing career on hold due to a back injury, which left her unable to walk and required four operations to correct.

At the time, O’Meara feared she’d ‘never dance again’ after her back injury flared up and left the singer feeling as if she’d ‘been shot’.

S Club 7 will play several reunion performances later this year.

Despite this, O’Meara has signed on to join the upcoming S Club 7 reunion performances.

Whilst Spearritt has not ruled out joining her former bandmates, concerns over her health have meant she is the only original member who will not be performing at the O2 later this year.
