Rachel Bilson lost job after saying she likes to be 'man handled' in the bedroom

Rachel Bilson lost job after saying she likes to be 'man handled' in the bedroom

The O.C. star also discussed her favourite sex position

The O.C. and Gossip Girl actor Rachel Bilson said she's been left 'floored' over losing a job after speaking candidly about sex.

Bilson has proved herself to be a talented actor over the years, racking up credits in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, That '70s Show, The To-Do List and How I Met Your Mother, to name a few.

Her talents had recently earned her another job, but during an episode of her Broad Ideas podcast this week she claimed she'd since been fired for a reason entirely unrelated to her work.

In the episode, she explained: “It’s been an interesting week guys. This is the first time it’s ever happened to me in my professional life that I lost a job this week, because of things that were said and then spun in the press and clickbait headlines and whatnot.

“A job got taken away from me because I was speaking candidly and openly about sex, in a humorous way, on our friend’s podcast… I basically got a job, that I already had, pulled from me because I was speaking openly about sex.”

The comments that apparently cost Bilson the work came earlier this month during an episode of another podcast, Women on Top.

Chatting with hosts Roxy Manning and Tammin Sursok, Bilson said her favourite sex position is missionary, explaining: "I’ve learned that if you want to have an orgasm during sex, you have to be on top.

"But missionary is my favourite. I want to be f**king manhandled.”

Rachel Bilson said she needed the job as she's a single mum.

Bilson later said on Broad Ideas that she'd made the comments in a 'joking manner', adding: "Like, ‘Yeah, I wanna get f**king manhandled.’ Basically, it’s like, okay give control or take control in the bedroom, whatever. We were speaking candidly.”

The actor admitted to having cried over losing the job, and said she was 'baffled' over her employer's decision, adding: "A single mom, a woman, lost her job because they were being candid and honest and the subject was sex”.

Bilson didn't name the people who allegedly let her go, but claimed they had expressed concerns fans would search her comments and find other instances of her talking about sex. Bilson has previously made headlines for explaining she didn’t have an orgasm from sex until her late 30s.

Rachel Bilson has said she wouldn't take back the comments about sex.

Despite losing her job, however, Bilson said she wouldn't take back her comments, insisting she hadn't said anything 'inappropriate'.

“Choice of language, if I could go back, now knowing I lost a job, maybe I would say it differently. But I still wouldn’t not say it," she said.

Reiterating her shock over the events, Bilson said: “I’ve been floored honestly. Everything was set in motion and I lost the job. It sucks."
