Boots Issues Urgent Warning To Advantage Card Holders

Boots has issued a warning to Advantage Card holders ahead of a huge shake-up set to be put in place for the scheme.

Under the current system, customers can collect points, each worth a penny, every time they shop in-store.

They then have two years to use them. 

However, from 20 June, this limit will be reduced to just a year so if you’ve been saving your points for longer, now is the time to use them or lose them!

Confirming the change, Boots customers received an email this week which read: "Thank you for being one of our valued Boots Advantage Card members.

"Whilst it won’t impact you as a regular Boots shopper, we need to let you know that we’re updating our Boots Advantage Card terms and conditions.

"From 20th June 2022, we will remove Boots Advantage Card points from accounts that haven’t been used* for one year, instead of the current two-year period.

"As long as you shop with your Boots Advantage Card at least once a year, your points will always be there ready for you to use them."

With the cost of living crisis tightening its grip on the UK, now is therefore the perfect time to see what you’ve got in your Boots account.

After all, the Mirror recently reported that one mum unknowingly had a £380 stored up on her loyalty cards, which she swiped but never actually used

The Advantage Card offers customers more than just rewards points, and it also gives them access to special discounts and personalised offers based on their spending. 

MoneySavingExpert reports that the retailer even has a ‘Price Advantage’ scheme, which can bag you as much as 50 percent off selected products.

The offer includes Aveeno Daily Moisture + Oat Milk Blend Shampoo 354ml, which you can bag for £4.49 instead of £8.99, and No7 Lash Extender Fiber Mascara, which costs £11.95 instead of £13.95. 

The Boots Advantage Card exists in a digital form too, so if you don’t want to scan a physical card, you can scan your phone instead - as is also an option with Tesco’s Clubcard!
