Giant Teddy Bear Sleeping Bags Exist For The Perfect Nap

You can now buy a giant sleeping bag shaped like a bear which looks perfect for a cosy nap during the winter months.

The 'Great Sleeping Bear' has been created by Japanese artist Eiko Ishizawa, inspired by a bear which escaped from the Italian side of the Alps to the Bavarian side.

If you're wondering why a sleeping bag needs any meaning behind it other than to have a solid nap inside, it is because this sleeping bag is actually a piece of art.

The 'problem bear' generated a discussion about the "many different ideas and emotions in people as illusions in reality by just crossing the borderline between countries".

So, Ishizawa decided to create an object with fake fur which realistically looked like a bear, but could still be used as a sleeping bag so it had a function.

On the website the description reads: "By hiring this connotation of outdoor goods, this work depicts the contradictive relationship between admirations and love of mankind toward wild nature, and the boundaries that we rarely brake."

You can commission a handmade replica of the bear for £1846 ($2350) if you're really dedicated to getting an undisturbed hour of sleep.

If that is a little bit too pricey for you we have found the perfect alternative.

SnooZzoo has a whole range of giant sleeping bags in the shape of your favourite animals in both adult and child sizes.

If you're buying for an adult who is very dedicated to their sleep you can buy a polar bear, tiger, wolf, black bear, brown bear or panda. The sleeping bags are priced up to £125 ($159.85).

For a child's sleeping bag priced up to £77.80 ($99) they can sleep in a monkey, lion, hippo or bear and shipping to the UK is just £22 ($29) it is a lot more affordable than Ishizawa's sleeping bag.

Each child sleeping bag comes with a storage pocket in the front so you can keep all your belongings safe while you take 40 winks.

They can also be worn as a backpack so you can keep them close by at all times just in case you have the sudden urge to nap.
