This Wife Was Fuming After Her Husband Listed Her On eBay

This Wife Was Fuming After Her Husband Listed Her On eBay

A husband ended up well and truly in the doghouse after listing his wife on eBay and comparing her to a used car.

Simon O'Kane, 33, from Wakefield, Yorkshire, decided to list his wife Leandra on the auction site after she didn't give him enough sympathy when he was ill.

The ad was titled 'Used wife' and listed her pros and cons. He wrote, Pros: 'decent bodywork'; Cons: 'Often makes this noise that cannot be silenced unless you order brand new shiny parts of metal'.

Simon also wrote: "Offers welcome, may consider a part exchange for a younger model."

Which is great banter, even if Leandra, 27, didn't quite see it that way.

"I was absolutely fuming - I wanted to kill him," she told the Metro. "Everyone at work saw it and were laughing their heads off. Not only did he put me up for sale but he used such a bad photo.

"He always moans he's poorly, he's a hypochondriac, then he swans off to the gym for three - four hours at a time. I told him that if he can go to the gym then he doesn't deserve my sympathy."

However, Simon felt a little differently about the situation. He said: 'I came in after work feeling a bit tired and unwell. My wife was doing the usual 'concerned' bit, but said I was burning the candle at both ends and was basically just whining at me.

"I thought 'right, I'm going to put you up for sale'."

Bids for Leandra reached up to £65,000 before eBay removed the listing.

And apparently she did eventually see the funny side.

Simon added: "I'm really lucky that she's such a legend and takes all my pranks on the chin.

"I was disappointed the listing was taken down, mainly because I wanted to see how high it would go, but it was a for a laugh so I wasn't actually gutted.

"It wasn't like I'd actually let someone have her - she's too good."

Yeah, she says that she's over it, but we bet there's a pretty good chance she's secretly still pissed off. You tried to sell her on eBay, for goodness sake!
