Woman explains how she paid just £13.80 for seven-night Greek holiday including flights

Woman explains how she paid just £13.80 for seven-night Greek holiday including flights

Gabriella Vinante-Hellens successfully bid on a luxury holiday to Greece, and won.

A woman from London has become the eighth traveller in 2023 to scoop a bargain break with Jet2holidays.

Earlier this year, Gabriella Vinante-Hellens secured a seven-night trip to the popular town of Hersonissos in Crete.

She bagged herself return flights to Greece and a week's stay at the stunning Akasha Beach Hotel & Spa.

For a standard room in June, adults can expect to pay around £180 for a one-night stay at the beachfront hotel

However, Vinante-Hellens got lucky and only had to shell out £13.80 for the luxury two-person trip, because she participated in Jet2holidays’ ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign.

She said: “It popped up on my social media and I thought why not give it a go?

“I had entered a few times but never thought I would win. I came up with the bid amount as it is the combined ages of my nearest and dearest.

“I can not believe I actually won."

‘Bid for a Break’ is Jet2holiday’s way of giving back to holidaymakers. It gives travellers the opportunity to bid for their next trip, with the lowest unique price being awarded the golden ticket.

As £13.80 wasn’t submitted by anybody else, and it was the lowest bid, Vinante-Hellens secured her trip to Greece.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Congratulations to Gabriella for successfully bidding for a holiday with Jet2holidays through our ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign and securing a getaway to Crete for just £13.80.”

Speaking about the campaign, Heapy said that the company understands how much 'UK holidaymakers want to get away' and that Jet2holidays hopes she has a 'wonderful time in Crete'.

He went on to say: “We have some fantastic holidays up for grabs each week, so make sure you get involved and have a bid in mind for next week’s holiday.”

Vinante-Hellens’ winning bid makes her the eighth person this year, and the 50th overall to win the coveted competition.

The ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign is in its third year, having returned to the Jet2 app on 17 April.

To enter the draw yourself, Jet2 advises that you download the official mobile app and add in your own holiday bid to the nearest pence.

To win, you have to be the only app user to bid that amount, and for your price to be the lowest.

Unfortunately, the ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign is taking a break from 15 June but is expected to resume later in 2023.
