As usual, Love Island was full of drama this evening. In a challenge which we love every single year they do it, the Islanders were asked to order themselves by guessing viewers' assumptions about them.
Questions such as 'who is the most attractive couple in the villa?' saw Millie and Liam crowned sexiest couple of the year, and, er, 'who is most likely to break up on the outside' saw Liberty and Jake be dubbed the winners.
The whole episode basically followed them afterwards, with Liberty going back and forth with the girls over whether Jake is 'genuine', and Jake trying his best (and failing) to prove his feelings to Liberty - so much so that at the end of the episode, we saw Jake waffling on to Liberty about how he feels about her, while struggling to say three little words.

Liberty had told Jake that she loved him a whole FOUR weeks ago, to which she didn't get a response (ouch). Despite making her the G-word, those three little words just didn't come out of his mouth.
Tonight, Liberty finally confronted him on this - and after realising he was at risk of being dumped, he finally told her he loves her... after about what felt like three hours trying to get there.
And Love Island viewers aren't having any of it.
One Love Island fan said: "So Jake says 'I love you' when his authenticity is questioned? Hmmm

Another wrote: "I'm sick. He said "I love you" under duress. Liberty pls".
Someone else said: "Jake got pressured into saying I love you".
Another viewer said: "Liberty came with clear points and Jake is waffling. The pure deflection and doubting her when he should be reassuring her. A mess."
And one viewer added: "She first said ily FOUR WEEKS AGO?! Nahhhh man Jake doesn't like her, he doesn't".
Someone called it a 'manipulation tactic': "Jake is waffling...it's a manipulation tactic to tell someone that they can come to you with problems...when you've demonstrated that you cause 99.9% of their headache??? And that you don't plan on fixing stuff".

And finally, this says it all: "Nothing says "I love you" like saying it for the first time when you think you're about to get dumped".
So, it's safe to say people aren't believing that Jake's intentions are true, and that people are actually thinking he's a bit of a showman.
Will they make it to the final? Or, failing that, make it on the outside? Only time will tell.
