There Is A Bar Dedicated To Cheese And Alcohol Coming To London
"When a man is tired of cheese, truly he is tired of life." That's the quote, right? Well it might as well be because it's the truest words we've ever known to be spoken.
Here at Pretty52 we're the kind of girls who start a Sunday morning with a cheese toastie for brunch, then enjoy a cheese sandwich as an afternoon snack (maybe with some cheese and onion crisps) before tucking into a cheesy lasagne for dinner, before rounding everything off with some cheese and crackers for supper. In short, we like our cheese.
And that's why we're very excited about the news that there's a Cheese Bar coming to our fair capital city. The bar is being masterminded Matthew Carver. He already owns The Cheese Truck which is, you guessed it, a truck from which he sells cheese. But to put it in such meagre terms is to do a disservice to Matthew's business.
The Cheese Truck works closely with the finest British cheese producers to serve only the finest cheeses that Britain has to offer from farms that make cheese in a 'traditional and thoughtful way'. It started life in London's Maltby Market and has since travelled to Glastonbury, Dubai and various fancy fashion events serving grilled cheese and more to everyone who wants it.
The Cheese Bar is set to be an expansion of that concept with some of the best dishes from the Cheese Truck's menu alongside brand new products. According to Hot Dinners, one returning dish is Cropwell Bishop Stilton sandwich with bacon and pear chutney, while a new item on the menu is Mexican fondue-inspired dish named the Queso Fundido and the Breakfast Poutine, which comes with bacon gravy, candied pancetta, a fried egg and cheese curds. Oh gawd yes.
All the cheese will be served alongside a collection of specially selected craft beers because, y'know, cheese and alcohol is the new fish and chips.
The Cheese Bar is due to open in mid-February in Camden, so yeah, prepare for Pretty52 to shut down around that time as we stuff ourselves with so much cheese that we can't write articles anymore.
