Tyrrells Is Selling 'Aphrodisiac' Crisps To Spice Up Valentine's Day
There's nothing that gets you in the mood for a night of passion quite like a bag of crisps (said no one ever).
However, Tyrells is here to change that as it has launched 'aphrodisiac' crisps to spice up your Valentine's Day with a new sweet and hot taste sensation.
An aphrodisiac is a food, drink, or other thing that stimulates sexual desire, and the company has created a saucy potato crisp that is said to have a "provocative" effect on the human body to get pulses racing.
Tyrells has combined two different delicious flavours - sweet, silky honey and hot, spicy chilli - for its latest loved-infused crunchy crisps. The honey is said to 'tinker with hormone levels' and the chilli 'triggers nerve endings on the tongue, releasing endorphins and increasing your heart rate.
The crisp brand's suggestions have backing of some sorts too, people have believed for centuries that honey boosts your libido and the same goes for chilli, although there isn't much science to prove the truth behind either.
Bags of these limited edition aphrodisiac snacks will be launching mid-January in selected retailers.
Sarah Lawson, Marketing Manager for Tyrrells, said: "At Tyrrells, we're always looking for ways to introduce new and different additions that bring our unique and often quirky personality to life.
"Our new honey and chilli variety has an extra special place in our hearts as it is the first crisp with aphrodisiac properties that's ever been created."
Tyrells isn't the only confectionery brand cashing in on 14th February as Ben & Jerry's is also launching a limited edition treat brimming with love.
The company has created a new flavoured named 'Love Is' that combines buttery brown sugar ice cream with pink chocolate, salted caramel cups, a cookie swirl and pink topping and chunks.
Here for a limited time only, the new flavour might seem like a bit of a splurge at £5.49 price tag per 500ml tub, which is more expensive than Ben & Jerry's traditional flavours which retail at £4.50.
However, some of the proceeds will go to the Refugee Action charity, so it's worth every penny.
