These Dragon Easter Eggs Are Great For Any 'Game Of Thrones' Fan

These Dragon Easter Eggs Are Great For Any 'Game Of Thrones' Fan

We've seen a whole bunch of novelty eggs doing the round this Easter, but now there's one set to conquer all others with fire and blood - or at least a nice bit of Belgian chocolate and edible gold paint.

Paying homage to everyone's favourite fantasy TV series, Morrisons has unveiled a milk chocolate, hand-decorated 'Dragon Egg', which has been decorated with a red and gold shimmer to resemble something straight out of Game of Thrones.

Crafted from Belgian milk chocolate, the 240g egg will set you back £6 ($8.30). Sure, it may be a little more expensive than some of the others you find on supermarket shelves, but you won't be able to hold them in your hands and feel like Daenerys Targaryen, will you?

The special chocolate Easter egg looks just like the three petrified dragon eggs that Daenerys was given by Magister Illyrio Mopatis as a wedding gift. They just looked like a set of pretty knick-knacks for her marital mantelpiece, but the plot thickened when they actually hatched and she suddenly had herself a brood of bloody dragons.

It's doubtful that these chocolatey replicas will produce the same effects, but at least they'll be provide a tasty snack if they don't.

The eggs - which are part of Morrisons' 'The Best' range - are available in stores across the UK, and are also available to buy online.

They'll no doubt do a pretty good job of keeping us all entertained while we hang on for the final season of Game of Thrones, which we're going to have to wait for FOREVER for.

Well, okay, maybe not forever, but long enough to warrant getting excited about an Easter egg, with HBO recently announcing that the last series would air at some point in 2019.

The final series is expected to stretch out for more than eight months, with many of the episodes being supersized. Production on Season Eight started in October and will reportedly last until August 2018 - a full year after Season Seven's finale was shown.

"Our production people are trying to figure out a timeline for the shoot and how much time the special effects take," HBO programming president Casey Bloys said over the summer about the long wait between seasons.

"The shooting is complicated enough - on different continents, with all the technical aspects - and the special effects are a whole other production period that we're trying to figure out. That is a big factor in all of this."

Yep, definitely time to go and entertain yourself with some shiny chocolate.
