This Floating Bar Is Looking For A Bartender In Paradise
If you're a UK-based bartender, chances are the usual working week is full of clouds and rain.
Despite us apparently heading into summer, the weather is miserable, and even the best days might mean you dragging pints out into a rainy beer garden.
But there might be a sunny break in sight to give you a short rest from that drudgery.
A stunning floating bar, situated in the middle of the beautiful Caribbean sea only a mile out from Jamaica, is offering one lucky bartender the chance to make cocktails in the sunshine, thanks to a Virgin Holidays competition.
The competition winner will get a pair of return economy Virgin Atlantic flights to Jamaica, seven nights' accommodation in a four star hotel, and £1,000 to spend on the trip.
While it's only a trial shift at the gorgeous floating bar, the winner will be giving its owner, Floyd, his first, well-deserved day off in years.
Just one lucky bartender will be picked by Virgin Holidays to work at Floyd's Pelican Bar, the isolated, sunny paradise just off the coast.
The only catch is that applicants must be willing to commute to their trial shift by boat or even paddle board as the venue is only accessible via sea.
And if you fancy yourself as a DJ, the winner will also be in charge of supplying the music for the shift, but obviously, the tunes must keep the very, very chill vibe going.
Virgin has given a pretty comprehensive list of traits that the ideal candidate will have, like being "eager to chat to locals and tourists alike and get to know them over a cool bottle of local beer" .
They'll also need to "throw the occasional fish to the resident pelicans, who gave the bar its name" and "welcome passing boats looking for a refreshment with a smile".
Reckon this is you? If you want to get the ideal working holiday and give Floyd a break, apply here.
