S'Mores Traybakes Have Landed At ASDA And They Look So Yum

Why haven't we been eating s'mores all this time?

Ever watched an American movie where characters are toasting s'mores around a campfire, and you don't really know what they are but you still know you want to eat them? Just us? Well, dream no more. S'mores have arrived in the UK.

Yes, ASDA is borrowing off our friends over the pond by launching s'more traybakes.

They are the bake-it-yourself version of the popular American treat, which traditionally consists of a marshmallow layer and a layer of chocolate placed between two crackers.

Sounds yum. Why haven't we been doing this the whole time?

In the kits, which cost just £1.75, you get shortbread mix, milk chocolate flavour candy and pink and white mini marshmallows. All you need to provide is 60 grams of chilled, unsalted butter and a dash of flour to make your tray bake.

Simply preheat your oven to 200C, and empty your shortbread mix into a bowl with the butter, rubbing the two together to form a dough.

Next, dust your surfaces with flower and roll out the dough to the size of your foil tray and place it in. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, before removing it and adding your chocolate and marshmallows. Finally, bake in the oven for approximately two minutes until it's looking nice and gooey.

Now, you're ready to enjoy your s'mores! (S'more being a contraction of the phrase "some more", FYI.)

This isn't the first awesome ASDA-related food news we've heard this week as the supermarket also launched pink gin and tonic cupcake kits.

The kits - also £1.75 - included sponge mix with raspberry gin and tonic flavour frosting mix, and red sugar crunch decorations to sprinkle on top. They let you bake six cupcakes, but similar to with the s'mores, just make sure you have butter, and egg and water before starting.

Nice one, ASDA.
