Pink Prosecco Flavoured Cheese Now Exists, And It Sounds Weirdly Amazing

Pink Prosecco Flavoured Cheese Now Exists, And It Sounds Weirdly Amazing

2017 has blessed us with some of the most weird and wonderful new additions. I'd say the one I'm about to tell you all about is definitely a close second fave, only just beaten out by KFC's chicken flavoured bath bombs.

A cheese company has done the impossible, and combined three of our favourite things. Prosecco, cheese and the colour pink. Yep, you heard right. Pink Prosecco flavoured cheese exists and NGL, I can't tell whether it's absolutely bloody genius or just outright strange.

Speaking exclusively to Pretty52, The Great British Cheese Company said about their weird concoction: "This year, we decided to make a new flavoured cheese creation to add to our range of flavoured Waxed Cheese Truckles."

"Why have we paired Prosecco and Raspberry with Wensleydale cheese?"

You've probably heard of the popular at Christmas classic, Wensleydale with Cranberries. Wensleydale has a supple and crumbly texture and a milky freshness, paired with fruit such as Cranberries, the acidity cuts through rich cheese resulting in a balanced flavour. The idea to pair Prosecco and Raspberry with Wensleydale produces the same savoury, sweet and acidic flavour combinations. Crumbly but milky Wensleydale, sweetness from Raspberries and the acidity from Prosecco produces a creamy but sweet raspberry flavoured cheese, with the Prosecco acidity cutting through your palette as you taste the cheese."

An individual truckle costs just £4.50, and you can buy them here.

However, it's not just Prosecco flavoured cheese that they do, as they also have more strange and wonderful mixtures. Whisky, Peri Peri, Chilli and Lime, Ale and Mustard and even Sticky Toffee are amongst some of the other truckles you can get your hands on. There's a few more, and you can check out the full collection here, or from any of the christmas markets over the following weeks.

If anyone's hosting any Christmas parties, these might be a good talking point. You can do a bit of bonding with Mary from down the road over some weird and wonderful dairy products. Because nothing says Christmas like a good cheese board.

BRB, off to go get truckle-wasted.
