M&S is launching a mouthwatering pre-mixed cocktail that's going to get you excited for Christmas.

The high street chain will soon be selling a ready-made jaffa cake cocktail, and it sounds festively delicious.

Marks and Sparks' tipple contains rum, and it will be available in stores in early autumn, meaning you'll be able to stock up on the orange-infused booze when Christmas comes around.

To serve the jaffa cake cocktail, all you need to do is give it a mix in a cocktail shaker, before pouring it over ice with a slice of juicy orange.

M&S is selling the yummy drink at just £10 for a 350cl bottle, meaning you can pop it on your list for Santa.

The cocktail is set to be included in a range of other festive drinks at M&S this Christmas time.

If you can't get enough of jaffa cakes, then Tesco is selling a giant one in its freezer aisle for just £2.

The cake is a supersized version of the treat, as it still has the same delicious combination of tangy orange jelly with soft spongy biscuit base.

There is a slight twist as there is also an orange-flavoured cream cheese mousse, all topped with rich, smooth chocolate.

The chocolate orange mousse cake is big enough to feed six people, but don't feel any guilt if you want to eat it all in one sitting with a spoon straight from the box.

Whether you call it a cake or a biscuit, there is apparently a correct way to eat a jaffa cake so that you get maximum pleasure from the orangey flavour.

To reach this vital conclusion, McVitie's consulted food scientist and flavour expert Dr Stuart Farrimond who, as well as having a fantastic job title, is more than qualified to teach us how to eat a snack.

He said: "We ran a panel of experiments to discover the best ratio of chocolate, orange jam and sponge.

"Given that the orange jam layer is pooled in the central segment of the Jaffa Cake, different eating styles will result in different combinations of these three layers in each mouthful.

"Whilst the most common way to eat a Jaffa Cake is the Half Mooner technique, our research concluded that the 'All Rounder' with the middle portion of the Jaffa Cake eaten as one, gives the optimum sweetness, taste and flavour.

"This can only be fully appreciated by nibbling the edge off first and then eating the middle portion alone."
